Karachi, July 15 (APP) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met with Federal Insurance Ombudsman Mumtaz Ali Shah to review the Ombudsman’s annual report for 2024, which highlighted substantial progress in the protection of insurance policyholders’ rights across the country.
During the meeting, the Ombudsman reported that a total of 6,116 complaints were received in 2024, out of which 5,827 equivalent to 95.27% have been successfully resolved. Efforts are ongoing to address the remaining 289 cases.
The Chief Minister praised the performance of the Federal Insurance Ombudsman and commended the office’s role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and justice within the insurance sector. He further emphasized the need for intensified public awareness campaigns to better inform policyholders of their rights and empower them to effectively seek redress for grievances with insurance companies. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to strengthening consumer protection mechanisms and fostering greater trust in the country’s insurance framework.
