Peshawar: Honorable Mr. Sharif Hussain, Secretary Social Welfare, Special Education & Women Empowerment Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, visited the Office of the Provincial Ombudsperson and held a productive meeting with Khatoon Mohtasib H.E Rubab Mehdi.
During the meeting, the Secretary acknowledged the important role of the Ombudsperson Secretariat in ensuring protection against workplace harassment and strengthening institutional mechanisms for safeguarding women’s rights across the province. He appreciated the Secretariat’s continued efforts to promote dignity, accountability, and equitable access to justice for women.
Khatoon Mohtasib H.E Rubab Mehdi briefed the Secretary on the mandate, performance, outreach initiatives, and strategic interventions of the Ombudsperson Secretariat. She highlighted the need for stronger inter-departmental coordination with the Social Welfare, Special Education & Women Empowerment Department to reinforce protection frameworks and expand awareness and support systems for women across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting reflected a shared commitment to enhancing institutional collaboration, strengthening complaint redressal mechanisms, and promoting inclusive, responsive governance for the protection and empowerment of women.
