Lahore – July 2025: In response to public complaints from various parts of the province, the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has overseen the completion of development works valued at Rs22.8 million, aimed at restoring and enhancing essential civic infrastructure.

According to a statement from the Ombudsman Office, these projects were executed under direct instructions to address citizen grievances and improve community living standards. The initiative included:

  • Rs5 million for the rehabilitation of public parks—covering landscaping, repair of recreational equipment, and restoration of green areas.
  • Rs57,000 allocated for repairing and restoring streetlights, enhancing public safety.
  • Rs11.9 million directed toward road repairs, including patchwork, resurfacing, and pothole filling.
  • Rs150,000 for the improvement of pedestrian pathways and walkways.
  • Rs500,000 used to clean and reconstruct drainage channels, helping prevent sanitation issues and waterlogging.

These interventions reflect the Ombudsman Punjab’s commitment to resolving citizen complaints efficiently and contributing to civic well-being through timely infrastructure improvements.

The Office continues to play a proactive role in promoting good governance and responsive public service delivery, reinforcing public trust in institutional mechanisms.
