The Regional Director Ombudsman Shaheed Benazirabad, Khan Muhammad Zardari, visited the District Jail Shaheed Benazirabad to review the facilities being provided to prisoners, assess their living conditions, and evaluate the overall performance of the jail administration.

According to an official handout, the regional director inspected different sections of the jail, including medical facilities, availability of medicines, cleanliness arrangements, food quality, and residential barracks. He also interacted directly with inmates to hear their complaints, understand their needs, and verify the status of facilities being provided to them.
Khan Muhammad Zardari stressed that ensuring prisoners’ basic human rights was mandatory under jail laws. He emphasized the need for proper medical care, a clean environment, and secure living conditions for inmates. He said the visit was conducted on special directives of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh.
The regional director further highlighted the importance of providing guidance, education, healthcare, and other essential services to prisoners as part of their rehabilitation.
On the occasion, Jail Superintendent Ghulam Rasool Mashori briefed the visiting official on the facilities being provided to inmates under the Jail Manual. Additional Director Social Welfare Murtaza Gauhar Salehani, Child Protection Officer Zulfiqar Rind, Assistant Jail Superintendent Sada Hussain Zardari, and officers from the health department and other relevant departments were also present during the visit.
