PESHAWAR, December : Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi said that recognizing outstanding performance through awards encourages excellence, competitiveness, and dedication within national institutions.
He was addressing an award distribution ceremony held at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Regional Office in Peshawar. Officers from regional offices in Abbottabad, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Peshawar attended the event.
Mr. Qureshi stated that the institution of Wafaqi Mohtasib continues to grow stronger due to the hard work and commitment of its officers and staff. He urged them to maintain the same level of dedication to preserve public trust and confidence in the institution.
Highlighting the organization’s performance, the Wafaqi Mohtasib informed that during the current year, complaints involving financial relief worth Rs. 9.46 billion have been resolved. He added that more than 242,000 complaints have already been addressed, with the total expected to exceed 250,000 by the end of the year.
He noted that performance-based awards have been introduced for the first time in the history of the organization to motivate staff and promote a culture of healthy competition. A committee of senior officers developed a rigorous, merit-based evaluation system, which included criteria such as the number of complaints redressed, findings issued, Khuli Katcheries conducted, and inspection visits carried out.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of awards to officers who demonstrated exceptional performance during the year.
