PESHAWAR – In a significant step toward advancing women’s economic empowerment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, H.E. Rubab Mehdi, Provincial Ombudsperson (Khatoon Mohtasib), chaired a meeting with the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI), Peshawar. The delegation was led by WCCI President Ms. Rabia Basri, accompanied by general secretaries and prominent women entrepreneurs.

The discussion focused on creating a safe and enabling business environment for women-led enterprises, with both sides sharing their mandates and challenges. Key points highlighted included:

  • Organizing joint awareness sessions across women-owned businesses.
  • Identifying and addressing barriers to women’s financial empowerment.
  • Tackling harassment challenges at workplaces and beyond to ensure dignity and safety for women entrepreneurs.

This initiative, under the visionary leadership of H.E. Rubab Mehdi, reaffirms the Ombudsperson’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, supporting women-led businesses, and building stronger pathways for women in entrepreneurship across the province.
