Karachi: A meeting of Regional Directors was held at the Office of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh under the chairmanship of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Mohammad Sohail Rajput. Regional directors from all districts of Karachi attended the meeting in person, while directors from other districts of Sindh participated via video link. Registrar Mr. Masood Ishrat and advisors were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, Mr. Mohammad Sohail Rajput reviewed the monthly performance of regional directors and directed them to ensure the prompt resolution of public complaints against government departments across the province. He also instructed officials to remain vigilant regarding basic public service issues and to regularly hold open courts (Khuli Katcheries) to facilitate citizens.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Office continues to resolve public grievances efficiently. A complaint filed by Mr. Sameer Hamid, a resident of Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi, regarding broken sewer lines, clogged drains, and potholes on Shaheed-e-Millat Road was addressed after the Municipal Commissioner of KMC took corrective action.
In another case, a complaint lodged by Advocate Mr. Sarfaraz Ali of Tando Mohammad Khan against the Sindh Health Department for failing to repair a government ambulance at the Saeed Khan Lund Basic Health Unit since an accident in 2018 was resolved, and a new ambulance was provided to the BHU.
Similarly, the complaint of Mr. Mohammad Yousaf, a resident of Korangi, against the Board of Secondary Education Karachi regarding his daughter being mistakenly marked absent in the Pakistan Studies examination was also resolved, ensuring appropriate correction and relief.
The meeting underscored the Provincial Ombudsman’s commitment to ensuring timely justice, improving service delivery, and addressing public grievances effectively across Sindh.
