KARACHI: The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Student Council office bearers of Sindh Madressatul Islam University was held on Thursday at the university’s main campus.

Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Muhammad Sohail Rajput attended the ceremony as the chief guest and, along with Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, administered the oath to the newly elected student representatives. The ceremony was held at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium of SMIU.

Addressing the gathering, Muhammad Sohail Rajput said it was always a pleasure to visit Sindh Madressatul Islam University and interact with the youth. He congratulated the newly elected Student Council members for their enthusiasm and sense of responsibility and also appreciated the outgoing Student Council for its contributions toward student engagement and activities.

He said students could not achieve success without dreaming big, adding that the 21st century is evolving rapidly and the youth must adapt to this pace of change. Referring to the poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Faiz Ahmed Faiz, he highlighted vision, empathy, communication, and patience as essential qualities of leadership.

The Ombudsman also praised Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai for providing students with opportunities that bridge academic learning with practical exposure, helping them prepare for future challenges.
