Rawalpindi – The Provincial Ombudsman Punjab is strengthening efforts to address public grievances against maladministration, negligence, corruption, and delays in government departments, officials said during an interaction on Wednesday.

Advisers to the Ombudsman Punjab, Rana Akbar Hayat and Muhammad Ehsan Tufail, posted at the Regional Office Rawalpindi, highlighted that the complaint resolution timeframe has been reduced from 90 days to just 30–45 days, ensuring faster relief for citizens.
They emphasized that anyone can lodge a complaint free of cost through the Ombudsman’s mobile application, official website, or via post. Citizens are updated at each stage of their case through SMS and email notifications, minimizing unnecessary office visits.
“All services are completely free, with no need for a lawyer or legal fees. Complaints can be filed in Urdu or English, and applicants may download certified copies of decisions at no cost once cases are resolved,” the officials said.
Applications require only basic details such as name, address, phone number, CNIC copy, and an affidavit, making the process accessible to both local and overseas Pakistanis.
The officials clarified, however, that the Ombudsman’s office does not entertain complaints already under trial in courts or those on which judgments have been delivered.
This initiative underscores the Ombudsman Punjab’s mission to provide accessible, transparent, and speedy justice, ensuring that citizens’ grievances are addressed without financial burden or unnecessary delays.
