PESHAWAR, October, 2025 — Provincial Ombudsman Muttahir Zeb held a meeting with members of the Supreme Council of the National Reform Movement and the Young Lawyers’ Council to discuss pressing public issues and institutional challenges.
During the meeting, Provincial President Sohrab Ali Khan briefed the Ombudsman on the movement’s objectives and shared its performance report. The delegation, comprising advocates and volunteer members, highlighted their efforts to resolve social conflicts and transform disputes into reconciliation.
The delegation raised concerns over rising public grievances due to institutional inaction, increased land transfer fees pushing citizens toward illegal practices, and issues such as illegal housing schemes on agricultural land, the collapse of drainage systems, encroachments, and weaknesses in the patwari system.
Ombudsman Zeb assured the delegation that their concerns would be addressed. He announced the introduction of a modern online portal enabling citizens to lodge complaints directly and ensuring prompt legal action against negligent officials.
Praising the National Reform Movement as a model for good governance, Zeb also commended the lawyers’ initiative of providing free legal aid for human rights cases. Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation and collaborative efforts for improved public service delivery.
