Dera Ismail Khan: In a landmark step toward strengthening access to justice and promoting women’s rights in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the first-ever Khuli Kacheri and awareness session by Provincial Khatoon Mohtasib Ms. Rubab Mehdi was held at the Deputy Commissioner Office, Dera Ismail Khan.

The session was organized in collaboration with the district administration and attended by Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Mr. Daud Khan, Regional Police Officer Mr. Ghulam Mubashir Maken, Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Mr. Abdul Nasir Khan, DPO Dera Mr. Ziauddin Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, representatives of line departments, members of the legal fraternity, students, civil society representatives, and participants from various educational institutions.

Approximately 950 participants, especially women from educational institutions, public departments, and different sections of society, attended the event. During the Khuli Kacheri, several complaints were presented by aggrieved women and citizens. On-the-spot relief and immediate directions were issued for resolution, reflecting a responsive and accessible justice delivery mechanism.

Participants were briefed on legal protections available to women, including inheritance rights, workplace harassment laws, prevention of gender-based violence, human rights violations, family court procedures, police-related complaints, and FIA cybercrime complaint mechanisms. The session also highlighted complaint registration through the official online platform and designated focal persons at the district level.

The event marked a historic milestone as the first Khuli Kacheri of its kind conducted by a Provincial Khatoon Mohtasib in Dera Ismail Khan. It also recorded one of the largest participations in the province for such an initiative, demonstrating growing public trust in institutional outreach for women’s rights protection.

The initiative reflected the progressive governance vision of the Honourable Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aimed at ensuring accessible, transparent, and doorstep justice, particularly for women and marginalized communities.

Under the leadership of Provincial Khatoon Mohtasib Ms. Rubab Mehdi, the institution continues to expand its outreach through awareness sessions, complaint facilitation forums, and mobile access initiatives to ensure free, prompt, and effective justice delivery across all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
