Khwendo Kor, with support from the National College of Arts, hosted a focused and action-oriented session as part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The event brought together academics, women entrepreneurs, civil society leaders, legal experts, and representatives from the KP Commission on the Status of Women to address digital violence and advance women’s rights across Pakistan.
H.E. Rubab Mehdi, Ombudsperson, attended as Chief Guest and delivered a clear call for stronger protections against digital harassment. She stressed the need to reinforce institutional mechanisms for justice and to use the full mandate of the Ombudsperson’s Office so women can exercise their rights without fear.
She noted that confronting digital violence is both a legal obligation and a shared social responsibility. She urged collaborative efforts, better reporting channels, and steady community support to make online spaces safer and more inclusive. Her remarks set the tone for the session, highlighting how real progress happens when institutions and communities work together.
The gathering closed with a collective pledge to strengthen women’s voices, safeguard their digital freedoms, and work toward a future based on equality, dignity, and empowerment.
