HYDERABAD: A public hearing session (Khuli Kachehri) was held at the Social Welfare Office in Hyderabad under the chairmanship of Mr. Khan Muhammad Zardari, Regional Director, Ombudsman Sindh for Shaheed Benazirabad. The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, following the special directives of the Honorable Provincial Ombudsman Sindh.
The session aimed to assess the ongoing work and performance of social welfare organizations operating across the district.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Khan Muhammad Zardari emphasized that the primary mission of social welfare organizations is to serve communities selflessly, without any expectation of personal benefit. He urged all organizations to step up their efforts in providing essential services to underserved populations.
He particularly highlighted the need for focused work in key sectors such as education, healthcare, access to clean drinking water, and agricultural development especially in underdeveloped and marginalized areas.
Mr. Zardari instructed all participating organizations to submit detailed progress reports of their current projects through the Social Welfare Department to the Ombudsman’s Office. He also announced plans for personal visits to various project sites for performance evaluation.
Representatives from several welfare organizations, including SAFCO, TRDP (Thardeep Rural Development Programme), SEWA, Nai Zindagi, Sachal, CDF, NAC, Village Welfare, Goth Sengar, NDF, Helping Hand, Sami, and Hari Welfare, gave comprehensive briefings on their ongoing initiatives.
The meeting was also attended by Ms. Ghulam Muhammad Sahito, Director Social Welfare Shaheed Benazirabad; Mr. Murtaza Gohar Salhano, Additional Director; Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Mallah, Deputy Director; and Mr. Zulfiqar Rind, Child Protection Officer. Leaders and representatives from various social welfare organizations were also present.
