HYDERABAD: On the special directives of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Suhail Ahmed Rajput, Regional Director Ombudsman Sindh Hyderabad Syed Muhammad Sajjad Haider visited the Rural Health Center Husri on Tuesday to review medical facilities and administrative affairs.
According to an official handout, the Regional Director conducted a detailed inspection of the health center along with Medical Officer Dr. Arjun Kumar. The inspection covered staff attendance, availability of medicines, maintenance of records, and overall management of the facility.
During the visit, Medical Officer Dr Faheem Qureshi was found absent from duty. The attendance register showed that although 16 employees are posted at the health center, only eight staff members were present at the time of inspection.
Dr. Arjun Kumar informed the Regional Director that RHC Husri provides healthcare services to around 10 small and large surrounding villages with a combined population of nearly 40,000. He said the center faces medicine shortages as supplies provided by PPHI Sindh are often insufficient to meet patient needs due to the absence of alternative healthcare facilities in nearby areas.
He further stated that patients are examined for six hours daily during morning hours, while 24-hour services are available only for normal deliveries.
The Regional Director also inspected the pharmacy and store of the health center and obtained details regarding the availability of medicines and stock position.
