The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has ensured the release of long-pending educational scholarships worth Rs6 million to 78 students across the province through its effective intervention against prolonged administrative delays.
According to details, the affected students had filed complaints stating that their scholarships had remained pending for several months due to bureaucratic hurdles in various government departments and educational institutions. The delays were adversely affecting their academic progress.
Taking notice of the matter, the Ombudsman Punjab directed the relevant authorities to thoroughly examine each case, fix responsibility for undue delays, and ensure the release of scholarships strictly on merit. The office also stressed the importance of transparency and timely processing of scholarship cases in the future.
In compliance with these directives, the concerned departments re-evaluated all pending cases, resolved procedural and documentary issues, and subsequently disbursed a total amount of Rs6 million to the deserving students.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab for providing timely relief and safeguarding their right to fair and prompt administrative justice.
