The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab actively participated in an international webinar titled “Ombudsman Principles for Digital Dignity and Fairness (Amsterdam Principles)” held on April 10, 2026, and hosted by the Ombudsman Metropool Amsterdam.
Ombudsman Punjab Ms. Ayesha Hamid led the delegation and represented the institution at the global forum, highlighting its commitment to advancing digital governance and citizen-centric service delivery. Secretary of the Office, Mr. Kaiser Saleem, also took part, reinforcing the institution’s strategic focus on transparency, accountability, and modernization.
A detailed technical presentation was delivered by Mr. Sami Ullah, Advisor (Finance & Procurement / IT Infrastructure & Development), who shared the Office’s progress in digital transformation. He highlighted key initiatives, including the implementation of the Ombudsman Punjab Management Information System (OPMIS) and improvements in service delivery mechanisms. His presentation received appreciation from international participants, who recognized the relevance and practical value of the initiatives.
Other participants from the Office included Mr. Muhammad Ashraf (Consultant, Regional Office Lahore-I), Mr. Syed Pervaiz Abbas (Advisor, Regional Office Gujranwala-II), Mr. Afzaal Waris (Deputy Director, Development & Operations), Mr. Adil Aziz (Deputy Director, IT Infrastructure and Network Security), and Mr. Umar Tahir (Assistant Director, International Affairs).
The webinar brought together ombudsman institutions from across the globe to discuss key issues such as the ethical use of emerging technologies, transparency in automated systems, and the importance of human-centered governance.
The participation reflects the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab’s continued commitment to innovation, accountability, and excellence in public service in an increasingly digital landscape.
