LAHORE: On the directives of the Ombudsman Punjab, 92 kanals of state land have been successfully retrieved from illegal occupants, with its market value estimated at over Rs.67.2 million.

According to a spokesperson, the recovered land belonged to various government departments and had been illegally encroached upon, with shops constructed unlawfully on the property.
Despite continuous efforts by the concerned departments to evict the encroachers, the land could only be reclaimed following the intervention and orders of the Provincial Ombudsman Punjab.
Prior to the operation, proper demarcation of the land was carried out in accordance with legal procedures to ensure transparency and accuracy.
The Ombudsman Punjab has further directed the authorities to take strict measures to prevent any future re-encroachment of the retrieved land, ensuring its protection and proper use.
