A comprehensive joint awareness session was held at the Commissioner Office Peshawar Division on the occasion of National Women’s Day, reaffirming the provincial administration’s commitment to women’s rights, legal awareness, and social justice.

The program was organized by the Office of the Commissioner Peshawar Division in collaboration with the Acting Secretariat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under the leadership and supervision of Mr. Riaz Mehsood, Commissioner Peshawar Division, and Ms. Rabab Mehdi, Provincial Collector Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The awareness session focused on educating women about their legal rights, with particular emphasis on inheritance and property rights, laws related to workplace harassment, and available legal protection and complaint mechanisms. Representatives from various government departments, universities, the legal fraternity, women professionals, entrepreneurs, and civil society organizations participated actively in the session.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Riaz Mehsood stressed the importance of strong institutional coordination and joint measures at the district level to ensure timely resolution of public grievances. He announced that joint initiatives, including open courts and awareness campaigns, would be organized across different districts in collaboration with relevant offices to improve public service delivery and educate citizens, especially women, about their legal rights.
In her address, Ms. Rabab Mehdi reiterated her commitment to women’s empowerment and strengthening legal protection systems. She emphasized the need for people-friendly reforms and expanded public outreach initiatives to ensure that justice reaches every segment of society. She further noted that district-level awareness programs, supported by mobile outreach mechanisms, would be enhanced to improve access to justice.
At the conclusion of the session, both institutions agreed to continue working jointly to promote women’s rights, transparent governance, and effective public service delivery through sustained cooperation, organizational coordination, and integrated planning.
