Lahore: Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar and the team from the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) visited the College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) to engage students and faculty in a powerful conversation on dignity, respect, and workplace accountability.
During the session, Ms. Viqar emphasized that every professional space must be grounded in mutual respect and zero tolerance for harassment. She highlighted that harassment laws in Pakistan are designed to protect everyone men, women, and gender-diverse individuals and that awareness is key to prevention.
The event encouraged open dialogue on issues often left unspoken: behavioral expectations, unconscious bias, setting clear boundaries, and the importance of speaking up. Students actively participated, reflecting on their roles in fostering safer, inclusive environments as future professionals.
Ms. Viqar reiterated that creating respectful workplaces isn’t just about compliance it’s about shaping a culture where everyone feels safe and valued. The session concluded with a collective commitment to uphold dignity and accountability in all professional interactions.
