CHARSADDA: To promote gender equality and ensure a secure environment for women, the Charsadda district administration hosted a comprehensive awareness session on workplace harassment and women’s property rights on September 17, 2026.
Organized under the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Government and Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Fazal Rahim Marwat, the event was supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner (HR & Relief) Waqas Ahmad and Additional Assistant Commissioner-I Charsadda Nida Shams.
Provincial Ombudsperson Ms. Rubab Mehdi attended as the chief guest. The session brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Social Welfare Department, District Youth Office, Police Department, and members of local youth organizations. Educational leadership, faculty, and students from Bacha Khan University, Government Post Graduate College, and Government Girls Degree College were also present in large numbers.
Addressing the gathering, officials and experts detailed the legal protections available to women, step-by-step procedures for filing harassment complaints, and mechanisms for property rights enforcement. Ombudsperson Rubab Mehdi emphasized the vital role of inter-institutional coordination in creating safe, dignified, and conducive work and learning environments for women across the province.
The initiative reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to empowering women through legal literacy, active complaint resolution, and strong institutional collaboration.
