Provincial Minister for Labour Mr. Fazal Shakoor Khan paid an official visit to the Ombudsperson Secretariat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to extend his congratulations to Her Excellency Rubab Mehdi on her appointment as Ombudsperson of the province.

During the meeting, the Minister lauded H.E. Rubab Mehdi’s steadfast commitment to justice, human rights, and institutional reform, particularly her efforts to protect the rights of women and marginalized communities. He described her leadership as principled, reform-oriented, and deeply rooted in public service, expressing confidence in her ability to strengthen the Ombudsperson’s role across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Both dignitaries held an in-depth discussion on the challenges faced by women in the labour force, highlighting the urgent need for robust mechanisms to safeguard legal and workplace protections. The Minister reaffirmed the provincial government’s determination to foster a safe, fair, and equitable environment for all workers, especially women in both formal and informal sectors.

H.E. Rubab Mehdi expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit and his continued support for the Ombudsperson Secretariat. She underscored the importance of institutional collaboration to advance justice, gender equity, and public trust in governance.

“This office remains committed to ensuring that every citizen — particularly working women — has access to justice, protection, and dignity,” she said.
