Karachi: Ms. Sabika Shah, Advisor FOSPAH Sindh, participated in a panel discussion at Greenwich University’s International Conference on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
The session brought together voices from the fields of human rights, gender equality, and institutional reform. Panelists included Mehnaz Rehman from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Aradhiya Khan, Human Rights Advocate, and Kapil Dev, Human Rights Activist for Gender Minorities. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Naazir Mahmood, Dean of Humanities.
The panel focused on the question of what makes people truly feel included and protected in workplaces, institutions, and society. Speakers discussed the importance of trust, policy implementation, institutional responsibility, and meaningful inclusion beyond symbolic commitments.
Addressing the session, Ms. Sabika Shah emphasized that protection systems are only effective when people trust them, and that policies must be properly enforced to create real inclusion. She highlighted the need for institutions to uphold their commitments consistently and ensure dignity, safety, and belonging for all.
The discussion reinforced the importance of moving beyond conversations on equity toward practical action, accountability, and institutional change.
