Islamabad: Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar, Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH), met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr and presented the institution’s Annual Report 2025.

Key figures shared with the President: 1,119 harassment complaints received during 2024-25, with 1,047 decided; 352 property deprivation complaints received, with 238 decided. Complaint registration rose by 375% compared to the previous year, reflecting growing public trust in the institution. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla also attended the meeting.

Following the briefing, the President appreciated FOSPAH’s role in safeguarding individuals against workplace harassment and called for greater awareness of its services. He stressed the need to strengthen internal processes and monitoring mechanisms to ensure complaints are resolved promptly and efficiently, emphasising that cases must be examined fairly and on merit, in accordance with due process and the law.
