ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) organized an awareness and dialogue session on workplace harassment at the National Defence University, emphasizing that harassment is not a private burden but a collective challenge that requires safe, inclusive, and rights-based work environments.
The session aimed to break the silence around harassment by encouraging institutions and individuals to confront the issue with courage, responsibility, and accountability. Participants were urged to play their role in fostering workplaces where dignity, equality, and justice are upheld.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Federal Ombudsperson Fauzia Viqar,, stressed that the law against workplace harassment is not merely a legal framework but a promise of dignity. She noted that the law continues to evolve to ensure protection against harassment and gender-based discrimination, reinforcing the right of every individual to a respectful work environment.
FOSPAH Law Officer Mohsin Sheikh conducted a detailed session on complaint mechanisms, inquiry procedures, and the legal process involved in harassment cases. He highlighted the importance of reporting incidents as the first and most critical step toward justice and accountability.
The session reflected FOSPAH’s continued commitment to raising awareness, strengthening institutional capacity, and promoting a culture of respect and zero tolerance for harassment across public sector institutions.
