In a significant institutional engagement, Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar met with Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar to discuss the mandate and ongoing work of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH).
During the meeting, Ms. Viqar briefed the Law Minister on FOSPAH’s role in safeguarding workplace dignity and ensuring legal protection for employees across all sectors, regardless of gender. She highlighted the institution’s efforts to promote safe and respectful working environments through effective implementation of harassment laws.
The discussion also focused on proposed legal amendments to further strengthen the existing framework. Both sides explored ways to enhance enforcement mechanisms and expand the scope of the law in line with evolving workplace dynamics.
The engagement reflected a shared commitment to advancing justice, inclusivity, and institutional accountability, with an emphasis on reinforcing protections against workplace harassment across Pakistan’s professional landscape.
