SUKKUR – August 7, 2025 – In a major step toward accessible justice and improved public service delivery, the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat held a public hearing in Sukkur on Wednesday as part of its ongoing Out-Reach Complaint Resolution programme.

Presided over by Syed Mehmood Ali Shah, Regional Head of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat Sukkur, the session focused on citizen complaints against two key utility providers — Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) and Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO).
The hearing successfully addressed a total of 90 complaints, including 32 against SSGCL’s Larkana Regional Office and 58 against SEPCO Larkana. Representatives from both utility agencies, as well as complainants, were present during the proceedings. Grievances were promptly reviewed, and immediate directives were issued to ensure resolution and future compliance.
The initiative reflects the commitment of Hon’ble Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi to bringing justice to citizens’ doorsteps and enhancing accountability in public sector entities.
Officials from SSGCL and SEPCO were instructed to strictly comply with the Ombudsman’s directives, reinforcing the mandate of the institution to safeguard public interests and ensure efficient service delivery across Pakistan.
