MULTAN: In line with the mission of the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan to provide swift and free justice at the doorstep of citizens, Assistant Registrar Mahmood Khan Mahay visited the MEPCO Complex in Muzaffargarh and conducted an open hearing on Thursday.

During the hearing held at the office of the Executive Engineer, Mahmood Khan Mahay personally listened to public complaints related to electricity billing and supply. He disposed of more than 20 complaints on the spot and issued orders for the refund of over Rs 300,000 in various electricity billing cases. In addition, directions were issued for the immediate restoration of electricity connections in three cases.

On the occasion, XEN Furqan Zakaria and SDO Khan Garh were also present.

Later, the Assistant Registrar visited several mosques in Muzaffargarh, where he met religious scholars and mosque imams. He requested them to raise public awareness about the role and services of the Federal Ombudsman’s office during Friday sermons and religious gatherings, so that more citizens could benefit from the institution’s free and prompt justice mechanism.

Local notables and community members appreciated the proactive approach of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat in resolving complaints at the doorstep of citizens without any cost.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahmood Khan Mahay reiterated that the process of providing justice without fee and delay would continue to ensure relief for the general public.
