ISLAMABAD: Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch has directed the administration of the Federal Government Services Hospital, commonly known as Polyclinic, to ensure uninterrupted provision of medicines and proper treatment to all patients.

The directives were issued after the Wafaqi Mohtasib’s Inspection Team visited the hospital on Tuesday in response to a large number of public complaints regarding maladministration and improper medical treatment. The team submitted a report highlighting several deficiencies at the facility.
The Federal Ombudsman directed the hospital administration to ensure the availability of doctors and submit details of the purchase and disbursement of medicines, along with the duty roster of doctors.
He also instructed the authorities to take immediate steps to improve cleanliness and sanitation at the hospital.
“No patient should be returned without receiving proper treatment and medicines,” he observed.
Naveed Kamran Baloch further directed that vacant posts of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff be filled at the earliest in accordance with relevant rules, while ensuring merit and transparency.
He also ordered that the under-construction Polyclinic-II Hospital in Sector G-11 be completed according to its original timeframe.
