ISLAMABAD: Federal Ombudsman Pakistan, Honourable Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch, visited the COMSATS Secretariat, where he was received by Executive Director COMSATS, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria. The meeting focused on strengthening institutional collaboration and exploring opportunities to enhance public service delivery through science, technology, and innovation (STI).
During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues for cooperation aimed at improving governance, service efficiency, and citizen-centric solutions through technological advancement and knowledge sharing.
Executive Director COMSATS, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, appreciated the Federal Ombudsman’s vision for improving public service delivery and institutional efficiency through the effective use of science, technology, and innovation. He also briefed the Federal Ombudsman on various COMSATS initiatives and programs designed to promote technological development and capacity building among member states.
The Honourable Federal Ombudsman highlighted the importance of innovation in addressing contemporary governance challenges and emphasized the role of technology in improving service accessibility and responsiveness.
Discussing the prevailing energy challenges, Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch encouraged a gradual transition from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to Electric Vehicles (EVs) as a sustainable solution. He also appreciated COMSATS’ leadership for its efforts in facilitating technology transfer and supporting member states in the development and adoption of electric vehicle technologies.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two institutions and leveraging science and technology to improve public services, promote sustainable development, and address emerging national and regional challenges.
