ISLAMABAD, August 2025 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended the requirement for taxpayers to log into the IRIS system using QR code authentication, following a complaint lodged with the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Regional Secretariat in Peshawar.

The complaint highlighted the difficulties taxpayers were facing while accessing the system under the QR code login requirement. After reviewing the issue, the FBR communicated to the FTO Secretariat that the QR code requirement has now been withdrawn.

The decision aims to simplify the login process and improve accessibility for taxpayers, ensuring smoother use of the IRIS system.
