PESHAWAR: Moving closer toward a safer, more inclusive society, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, hosted a high-level joint delegation of provincial ombudspersons to discuss critical legal and social protections for women across Pakistan.
The delegation comprised the Ombudsperson Punjab, Dr. Najma Afzal Khan, KPK Ombudsperson Barrister Rabab Mehdi, and Deputy Director Admin Muhammad Akhtar Hussain.
The primary dialogue focused on:
- Workplace Protections: Devising stronger strategies to completely eliminate harassment and safeguard the rights of working women.
- Dignified Environments: Fostering a corporate and public infrastructure that provides safe, secure, and dignified work environments nationwide.
- Institutional Synergy: Enhancing bilateral cooperation and performance sharing between the ombudsperson offices of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to streamline grievance redressal mechanisms.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi strongly reaffirmed that ensuring equal opportunities for women in all socio-economic sectors devoid of fear, discrimination, or systemic obstacles stands as a core, unyielding responsibility of the state. He highly commended the vital role played by the provincial ombudsperson institutions in effectively delivering administrative justice, eradicating workplace harassment, and continually reinforcing public trust in national accountability frameworks.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen inter-provincial collaboration, ensuring that legal remedies for protection remain accessible, robust, and impactful for citizens across both provinces.
