Islamabad: In a significant engagement held at the Presidency, the Honourable Chief for Legal Affairs to the President of Pakistan, Mr. Irfan Qadir, hosted a meeting with all five Federal Ombudsmen of Pakistan The members of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman to discuss and deliberate upon critical issues facing the Federal Ombudsman institutions across the country.
The meeting brought together the heads of all five Federal Ombudsman institutions under one platform at the Presidency a gathering reflective of the importance attached to the Ombudsman system as a pillar of administrative justice and public grievance redressal in Pakistan.
The engagement provided a valuable opportunity for the Federal Ombudsmen to collectively raise and discuss matters of shared institutional concern, ranging from operational challenges to the broader strengthening of their respective mandates in serving the public.
Discussions at the meeting centred on the critical issues confronting the Ombudsman institutions, with an emphasis on ensuring that these bodies remain effective, accessible, and responsive in fulfilling their constitutional and legal mandate of protecting citizens’ rights and ensuring accountability within public sector institutions.
The presence of the Chief for Legal Affairs to the President underscored the importance the Presidency continues to place on the Ombudsman system as a key mechanism for good governance, transparency, and the timely redressal of public complaints.
The meeting is expected to pave the way for continued coordination between the Presidency and the Federal Ombudsman institutions, reinforcing efforts to address systemic challenges and further strengthen the role of these institutions in upholding the rights of citizens across Pakistan.
