ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: A representative delegation from S&S Law Associates, Pakistan’s first all-women law firm led by Advocate Ms. Sibah Farooq, visited the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat as part of its civil society engagement initiative.

The delegation was briefed on the Secretariat’s structure, its role in addressing maladministration in federal government agencies, and its expanding reach across specialized domains such as banking, taxation, insurance, and workplace harassment.

Wafaqi Mohtasib Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi highlighted that last year alone, a record 226,373 complaints were filed, with 223,198 successfully resolved. Over 150,000 complaints have already been received this year, with projections indicating the figure may surpass 250,000.

The delegation also toured the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) Secretariat, where they were informed about its establishment in 1996 under Pakistan’s leadership. Presently, Mr. Qureshi serves as its President.

The visiting lawyers commended the Federal Ombudsman’s office for its remarkable performance, noting its role in promoting accountability, ensuring good governance, and serving as a model institution for administrative justice.
