Hon’ble Mr. Arif Khan Rathore, Ombudsman Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K), accompanied by Ms. Shazia Ashraf, Secretary, AJ&K Ombudsman Secretariat, called on Hon’ble Mr. Zafar Hijazi, Federal Tax Ombudsman of Pakistan and President of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman, to discuss matters of mutual interest and institutional cooperation.
During the meeting, the AJ&K Ombudsman expressed sincere appreciation for the instrumental role played by the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman, particularly under the leadership of President Zafar Hijazi, in the revival of the AJ&K Ombudsman institution and in facilitating his appointment. He acknowledged the Forum’s continued efforts to strengthen ombudsman institutions across Pakistan through collaboration, capacity building, and the promotion of good governance.
President Zafar Hijazi reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to providing continued support and guidance to the AJ&K Ombudsman institution with a view to enhancing its institutional capacity, improving grievance redress mechanisms, and ensuring effective public service delivery.
Mr. Almas Ali Jovindah, Executive Secretary of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman and the OIC Ombudsman Association (OICOA), also attended the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepening institutional collaboration, exchanging best practices, and strengthening complaint resolution mechanisms to promote transparency, accountability, and greater public confidence in ombudsman institutions.
