KARACHI: Reaffirming its unwavering commitment to promoting safe, inclusive, and equitable working environments, the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH) active participated in the prestigious Women’s Empowerment Forum 2026. FOSPAH was represented at the event by Ms. Sabika Shah, Regional Head & Advisor, FOSPAH Karachi.
The high-level forum was organized by the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and received valuable support from the Government of Japan. The event successfully convened a diverse group of stakeholders, including employers, government representatives, workers’ organizations, and international development partners, to collectively reflect on national progress regarding women’s empowerment, gender equality, and the provision of decent work in Pakistan.
Key dialogues and strategic discussions throughout the forum emphasized:
- Inclusive Practices: Strengthening institutional and corporate frameworks to accommodate diverse workforces.
- Worker Protections & Redressal: Enhancing legal protections for employees and optimizing access to transparent, effective grievance mechanisms.
- Harassment Prevention: Implementing proactive compliance measures to completely prevent workplace harassment.
Participants and panelists collectively highlighted that sustained, collaborative efforts between regulatory bodies and industrial sectors are essential to creating workplaces where dignity, mutual respect, and equal opportunity are strictly upheld for all.
As an independent statutory body dedicated to eradicating workplace misconduct, FOSPAH remains fully committed to working alongside national and global partners.
