LAHORE: The Ombudsman Punjab has successfully facilitated the release of more than Rs. 21.4 million in pending marriage grant payments for 60 beneficiaries across the province, providing significant financial relief to families whose claims had remained unresolved for an extended period.
According to a spokesperson for the Ombudsman Punjab Office, the affected beneficiaries approached the institution after facing prolonged delays and non-payment of marriage grant claims by various provincial government departments.
Taking immediate notice of the complaints, the Ombudsman Punjab directed the concerned departments to resolve the cases and ensure prompt payment of outstanding dues without further delay.
As a result of sustained institutional intervention and continuous follow-up, marriage grants exceeding Rs. 21.4 million were successfully disbursed to 60 beneficiaries across Punjab.
The spokesperson stated that the Ombudsman Punjab remains firmly committed to protecting citizens’ rights and ensuring timely, transparent, and effective resolution of public grievances through administrative action.
He further added that the institution will continue its efforts to strengthen accessible and hassle-free complaint redressal mechanisms across the province, ensuring accountability and efficiency in public service delivery.
