A high-level technical and strategic coordination meeting was held between the Office of the Ombudsperson, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the framework of the Right-Based Community Stabilization Project.
The meeting was chaired by the Honourable Ombudsperson Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ms. Rubab Mehdi, and attended by Mr. Muhammad Abbas Khan, Principal Advisor to the Ombudsperson Secretariat, along with members of the UNDP technical team.
During the meeting, participants discussed key strategic and technical areas aimed at strengthening institutional coordination and promoting rights-based governance. The agenda focused on enhancing collaboration mechanisms among the Gender Desk, Reintegration Support Groups, Women Advisory Group, and the Project Advisory Committee in District Khyber.
The participants also deliberated on the development of integrated case referral pathways to address women’s property rights issues and workplace harassment cases in line with national legal frameworks and international human rights commitments. Emphasis was placed on evidence-based advocacy, public sensitization, legal awareness, and improving access to justice at the community level.
The Honourable Ombudsperson, Ms. Rubab Mehdi, appreciated the continued technical and institutional support of UNDP, acknowledging its important contribution toward strengthening service delivery systems and advancing gender-responsive governance in the province.
The UNDP team commended the leadership and reform-oriented approach of the Ombudsperson Secretariat and reaffirmed its commitment to providing continued technical assistance and institutional collaboration for effective policy implementation and sustainable community stabilization outcomes.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to promote inclusive governance, institutional resilience, and rights-based development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
