The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab, Pakistan, undertook a training-oriented working visit to the Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye to strengthen international cooperation and promote institutional learning in the field of public grievance redressal and administrative oversight.
The delegation was warmly received by the Chief Ombudsman of Türkiye, Mehmet Akarca, in the presence of Secretary General Mehmet Doğan. During the visit, the delegation also held productive meetings with Ombudsmen Erkan Ertunç Balta and Şerif Yılmaz, alongside detailed presentations and expert briefings by various departments of the institution.
The discussions focused on sharing international best practices related to grievance redressal mechanisms, administrative accountability, institutional efficiency, and improved public service delivery. Both sides emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange among ombudsman institutions to strengthen transparency, responsiveness, and citizen trust.
The Punjab Ombudsman delegation included Mr. Muhammad Anwar Rashid, Advisor (Implementation-IV), Dr. Khalid Hussain, Consultant Regional Office Bhakkar, Mr. Muhammad Nasir Jamal Pasha, Advisor (Health Services Monitoring), Ms. Asifa Gull, Consultant Regional Office Mandi Bahauddin, Mr. Muhammad Saleem, Deputy Director, and Mr. Adil Asghar, Liaison Officer cum Coordinator.
The visit reflects the continued commitment of both institutions to fostering international cooperation, promoting good governance, and enhancing institutional capacity through mutual learning and professional engagement.
