Islamabad: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Secretariat formally concluded its Campus Ambassador Programme 2025 with a closing ceremony held at its headquarters, marking the completion of a nationwide youth engagement initiative conducted from April to December 2025.
The programme was implemented under the Youth Initiatives Wing and brought together 39 Campus Ambassadors from 32 academic institutions across Pakistan, including Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan. The initiative aimed to create a structured link between the FTO and academic institutions while raising awareness about taxpayer rights and grievance redressal mechanisms.
During the programme, Campus Ambassadors actively promoted the mandate and jurisdiction of the Federal Tax Ombudsman. They conducted more than 30 awareness sessions across the country and supported institutional initiatives, including internships, academic research, and competitions.
The programme also encouraged academic participation through an article writing competition, which received over 45 research submissions. Ambassadors also took part in the FTO Interns’ Simulation Moot Court Competition 2025.
In addition to field engagement, the ambassadors contributed to digital outreach by producing more than 30 video messages to promote awareness about administrative justice and taxpayer facilitation. Their role as institutional focal persons helped strengthen FTO’s visibility within academic circles nationwide.
Addressing the ceremony, Almas Ali Jovindah, Advisor Legal, Head of Youth Initiatives FTO, and Executive Secretary of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman (FPO), appreciated the ambassadors for their dedication and impactful performance. He highlighted the importance of youth-led engagement in creating awareness about taxpayer rights.
Munimah Riaz, Assistant R&O and Supervisor of CAP 2025, briefed participants on the structured nature of the programme and the specialized training sessions arranged for ambassadors. She also highlighted the establishment of the FTO Alumni Network to ensure continued engagement with programme participants.
In his keynote address, Honourable Federal Tax Ombudsman Zafar Hijazi, President of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman (FPO), encouraged the ambassadors to remain committed to discipline, integrity, perseverance, and continuous professional growth. He said early professional struggle plays an important role in building a strong career foundation.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among Campus Ambassadors by the Honourable Federal Tax Ombudsman in recognition of their contributions and successful completion of the programme.
The Campus Ambassador Programme 2025 stands as an important initiative of the FTO Secretariat, contributing to public awareness, institutional outreach, and the development of informed youth committed to administrative justice.
