ISLAMABAD: Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch called on Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, to discuss matters related to the provision of justice and effective resolution of public grievances.

During the meeting held at the Islamabad High Court, both sides exchanged views on enhancing institutional cooperation, promoting transparency, and strengthening accountability mechanisms to better address public issues.
The Federal Ombudsman briefed the Chief Justice on the institution’s performance, stating that over 261,000 complaints were decided in the past year, with an implementation rate of approximately 97 percent. He added that all decisions were made within the stipulated period of 60 days.
Mr. Baloch also highlighted that the Ombudsman’s services are accessible without the need for legal representation or any fee. With offices operating in 28 cities across Pakistan, the institution is providing free and timely justice to citizens at their doorstep. He further noted that outreach initiatives, including visits to remote areas and open courts (Khuli Kachehris), are ensuring prompt redressal of complaints.
Chief Justice Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar appreciated the role of the Federal Ombudsman in delivering free and speedy justice against maladministration in government institutions. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to enhance coordination between institutions, improve access to justice, and further strengthen the system for effective grievance redressal across the country.
