The Punjab government has appointed Dr. Najma Afzal Khan as the Provincial Ombudsperson under the Protection of Women from Harassment Act, 2010.

An official notification confirming the appointment was issued by the Services and General Administration Department following approval from the provincial cabinet. According to the notification, Dr. Najma Ayaz Khan has assumed charge of her responsibilities with immediate effect.

Her appointment has been made for a term of four years. The government has stated that the detailed terms and conditions of her tenure will be issued separately at a later stage.

The position of Provincial Female Ombudsman plays a key role in addressing complaints of workplace harassment and ensuring the protection of women’s rights across the province.
