LAHORE: The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has facilitated enforcement proceedings in response to public complaints regarding overpricing, violations of official rates, and food quality standards.
In coordination with Price Control Magistrates and the Punjab Food Authority, inspections were conducted to assess the pricing and quality of essential commodities across various areas.
As a result of these actions, fines amounting to Rs. 25.6 million were imposed on those found violating notified standards.
The initiative reflects the Ombudsman Punjab’s ongoing commitment to consumer protection, ensuring the availability of safe and fairly priced food items, and strengthening accountability in the market.
