Oslo: The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab was represented by Mr. Muhammad Yamin Bajwa, Assistant Director (Coordination) / PSO to the Ombudsman Punjab, at a specialized workshop organized by the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) in Oslo, Norway.

The workshop was hosted by the Norwegian Parliamentary Ombud and conducted in collaboration with the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT). The session focused on strengthening National Preventive Mechanisms (NPMs), particularly in monitoring mental health institutions and addressing potential risks of ill-treatment and human rights violations.
Participants discussed best practices and strategies aimed at enhancing oversight mechanisms and promoting the protection of human rights within institutional settings. The participation of Mr. Muhammad Yamin Bajwa in the international forum reflects the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab’s continued commitment to strengthening accountability, improving complaint redressal systems, and aligning institutional practices with international standards and best practices
