The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab participated in the Ombudsman Stakeholder Conference & Technical Workshop 2026 held in Monrovia, Liberia, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to good governance, administrative justice, and institutional accountability.
Representing Pakistan, Ayesha Hamid, 1st Vice President of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) and Ombudsman Punjab, delivered a presentation titled “Administrative Justice and Grievance Redress in Pakistan.” In her address, she highlighted the pivotal role of the Ombudsman institution in resolving public complaints, addressing maladministration, and strengthening governance mechanisms across the province.
The conference brought together prominent international ombudsman leaders and public accountability officials, including Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., President of Liberia; Finley Y. Karngar, Ombudsman of Liberia; Kholeka Gcaleka, Public Protector of South Africa; Joseph Whittal, Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) Ghana; and Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah, Ombudsman of Sierra Leone. The event also engaged representatives from integrity institutions, civil society organizations, youth networks, and media partners.
Pakistan’s participation in the international forum underscored its dedication to strengthening accountability frameworks, promoting transparency, and enhancing collaboration with global ombudsman institutions in advancing effective public service delivery.
