The Regional Office of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat in Peshawar has secured relief amounting to Rs187,280 for a local resident following a complaint against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) over excessive arrears in his gas bill.
The complainant, Mr. Liaqat Ali Khan of Peshawar, approached the Mohtasib office alleging that he had been unfairly charged inflated arrears. Taking prompt notice of the grievance, the Regional Office initiated an investigation into the matter.
Officials stated that the inquiry was conducted by Mr. Mushtaq Jadoon, Investigation Officer, while Deputy Advisor Mr. Muhammad Alamzaib supervised the implementation of the decision to ensure timely compliance by the concerned department. The investigation resulted in a substantial reduction of the disputed amount, providing financial relief to the complainant.
Mr. Liaqat Ali Khan expressed satisfaction with the resolution of his complaint and appreciated the swift and effective intervention of the Mohtasib office.
The Regional Office reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring prompt, transparent, and fair redress of public complaints related to financial and administrative issues.
