ISLAMABAD/QUETTA: The Federal Ombudsman has once again demonstrated its role as an effective forum for public grievance redressal by providing timely relief in two separate cases involving property ownership and delayed rent payments.

In Islamabad, Dr. Nazir Ahmed successfully regained ownership of his 10-marla residential plot located on Natiya Road, Thanda Pani, following the intervention of the Federal Ombudsman. Dr. Ahmed stated that he had fully paid all installments for the plot between 2015 and 2018, however, the transfer of ownership was delayed after certain members of the concerned party went underground. After filing a complaint with the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat in Islamabad, proceedings were initiated, and within eight months, the plot was restored to him. Dr. Ahmed expressed gratitude for the prompt and fair resolution of his long-pending issue.

In a separate case in Quetta, Muhammad Waris received Rs. 5.2 million in overdue rent from a telecom company for a tower installed on his property. According to Waris, the company had failed to pay rent for the past five years despite repeated reminders. Upon receiving his complaint, the Federal Ombudsman conducted an inquiry, summoned the relevant officials, and, finding no satisfactory justification for the delay, ordered immediate payment. The department complied with the directive and cleared the outstanding amount without further delay.

Both complainants appreciated the Federal Ombudsman for ensuring justice through transparent and efficient handling of their cases, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to protecting citizens’ rights against maladministration.
