HYDERABAD, December: Regional Director (RD), Mohtasib (Ombudsman), Shaheed Benazirabad, Mr. Khan Muhammad Zardari, held an open Katchahry in village Noor Ahmed Jalbani, where a long-standing inheritance land dispute filed by Ms. Savera was resolved through on-site verification and practical measurements.
Addressing the gathering, the Regional Director informed that the complainant had approached the Ombudsman’s office seeking legal transfer of property left by her late husband. The inherited assets included agricultural land, a shop, and a brick kiln. Following the effective intervention of the Ombudsman’s office, all properties were transferred to Ms. Savera and her children in accordance with their lawful shares.
During the open Katchahry, possession of the inherited property was formally handed over to the complainant. With her consent and complete satisfaction, lease compensation was also recovered from the lessee on the spot. An amount of Rs. 120,000 was paid as compensation for 2 acres and 8 ghuntas of agricultural land, while Rs. 150,000 was recovered for the brick kiln. The recovered amounts were handed over to Ms. Savera, fully resolving the complaint.
Mr. Khan Muhammad Zardari also briefed the participants about the powers, jurisdiction, and role of the Ombudsman institution. He explained the procedure for filing complaints against maladministration and assured the public that all genuine grievances would be addressed strictly in accordance with the law.
He emphasized that the Ombudsman is an independent and effective forum for protecting citizens’ rights and improving public services, particularly in cases involving non-performance or injustice by government departments.
On the occasion, Ms. Savera expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh and Regional Director Khan Muhammad Zardari for restoring her late husband’s property and providing timely justice.
