ISLAMABAD – A team from the Wafaqi Mohtasib Office, led by Director General Mr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmad and Consultant Mr. Khalid Sial, held a Khuli Katchery in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, on the directions of Wafaqi Mohtasib Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi. The session aimed to address public grievances through immediate, on-spot action.

During the proceedings, the team directed that financial support be provided to a complainant through the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). They also ordered the SHO of a nearby police station to return an impounded motorcycle, mobile phone, and 9,000 rupees that had been taken unlawfully. The SHO assured the gathering that the items would be handed back without delay.

The Khuli Katchery drew civil society members, media personnel, and a large number of complainants. Officers from the Mohtasib Office issued prompt instructions to representatives of federal agencies present at the event to ensure quick resolution of complaints.

Later, officers briefed the public on the role and functions of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Institution. Citizens were informed that complaints can be submitted on plain paper with a name and CNIC number, as well as through online platforms and the official mobile app.

Addressing the participants, the Director General urged departmental heads in the Mirpur Division to uphold merit, follow rules, and maintain integrity in public service. He stressed that maladministration, bribery, and recommendation culture have no place in government offices, adding that public servants are duty-bound to serve citizens faithfully.

A large number of complainants demanded swift action on their cases, and institutional representatives assured full cooperation with the Mohtasib team for timely redressal.
