ISLAMABAD: Her Excellency Rubab Mehdi, Khatoon-e-Mohtasib, participated as the Key Speaker at the Stakeholder Dialogue and Practice Sharing Workshop on Strengthening Institutional Response to Violence Against Women (VAW), organized by the Centre for Peace and Development Initiative (CPDI).
In her address, Ms. Mehdi underscored the urgent need for a stronger, survivor-centred justice system that ensures timely, fair, and dignified redress for women affected by violence. She highlighted the critical role of institutions in responding effectively and empathetically to such cases.
The Khatoon-e-Mohtasib emphasized the importance of coordinated institutional action, accountability, and the implementation of gender-responsive mechanisms that safeguard women’s rights and promote their empowerment.
“Effective justice delivery hinges on sensitized institutions, proactive complaint-handling frameworks, and collective commitment,” she noted, urging stakeholders to strengthen pathways that uphold women’s dignity, safety, and equality.
Her remarks served as a compelling call for action, aligning with the broader mission to build a more just, inclusive, and responsive system for addressing violence against women.
