Hyderabad, November 5: An awareness session was held at Government Fatima Jinnah Girls Higher Secondary School in Nawabshah to educate students and teachers about the role and functions of the Provincial Ombudsman’s Office.

The event was organized to raise awareness about public grievance redressal mechanisms and the services provided by the Sindh Ombudsman. Mr. Khan Muhammad Zardari, Regional Director of the Ombudsman Office for Shaheed Benazirabad, was the guest of honor. The session was attended by Ms. Humaira Mir, District Education Officer (Secondary), along with the school principal, faculty, and a large number of students.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Zardari described the Ombudsman as an independent constitutional body committed to resolving citizens’ complaints related to injustice, delays, corruption, or negligence in government departments. He emphasized that all complaints are addressed on merit and without any cost to the complainant.
The Regional Director also briefed attendees on the institution’s legal framework, public service mandate, and its ongoing initiatives to uphold transparency and accountability in public service delivery. He encouraged students to be informed citizens, uphold civic responsibility, and contribute to a more just society.
He noted that such awareness sessions are crucial for empowering the public with knowledge of their rights and access to justice. During the interactive session, students asked insightful questions about the Ombudsman’s procedures, which were addressed in detail.
